More and more sites are now being built on brownfield sites or difficult terrain which requires careful management and specialist skills. Blaze Construction has worked on numerous contracts where the ground conditions have changed continually: from disturbed demolition sites (down to as much as 8m deep) to contaminated sites, flooded sites, running sand, liquid peat, boggy conditions, clay, rock, chalk, sand and even some ideal conditions!! Experience working in these conditions has positioned Blaze Construction as a premier contractor best suited to work in difficult ground. Despite difficult ground conditions, Blaze Construction has successfully managed numerous sites to complete all aspects of foundations, formwork, steel-fixing and concrete work to a high standard within time and budget constraints. Blaze Construction attribute this to its experienced site supervisors, its highly trained workforce and regular site inspections by its own management team.

As we are experiencing more extreme weather conditions associated with climate change particularly flooding, storm drainage and relief schemes have become as important as our foul sewage systems.
Blaze Construction are keen to use innovative and environmentally friendly drainage systems to not only cope with current demands but to provide systems that will be robust enough to with stand future needs. These services include installation of foul and storm main drains and connections to existing main drainage runs, overpumping, installation of pumping stations, rising and pumped mains, construction of main foul sewer treatment plants, holding tanks, oil interceptor tanks, outfalls, head walls, attenuation systems, balancing ponds, filter drains and deep bored soakaways.
Aftercare for drainage systems is also provided using in-house fully kitted, trained, experienced CCTV and jetting crews who offer an inspection, reporting, clearing and unblocking service. These crews react quickly to any emergency drainage calls 24 hours per day.
Building land availability is in short supply and the Government are actively encouraging the development of brownfield sites. This in turn can lead to difficult building conditions and demand different construction solutions.

Foundation solutions range from standard foundations, deep trench fill foundations, piled and ring beam construction, piled and precast ring beam solutions, pad and beam construction, ground stabilisation prior to standard foundations and concrete reinforced rafts to name but a few. Blaze Construction has the staff and the skills coupled with the vast experience of its Management to cater for any or all of the solutions.
Blaze Construction is happy to take the strain of all the substructure works away from its customers and is pleased to act as Principal Contractor on the contract until the main contractor has a presence on site. Blaze Construction is also prepared to apply for all road opening, road closure, footpath closure notices and traffic light applications as well as drawing up and submitting traffic management plans, carrying out trial hole exploratory work and submitting reports on behalf of its clients.
Blaze Construction will undertake to manage mains services installation, meet and agree remedial works required to allow sites to be handed over to the Water- and Local Authority onto maintenance or final adoption.
Blockwork, brickwork, traditional floor construction, block and beam floor construction, service ducts, concreting, power-floating, domestic drainage, footpath construction, paving, driveway construction and tarmacadam elements of the work are all carried out by Blaze Construction leaving its clients free to concentrate on building and handing over a quality product.
Blaze Construction is highly experienced in working with the main contractor and carrying out the groundworks and civil engineering packages on major construction projects.
It has the knowledge and experience to provide a full range of services and the ability to work in partnership as part of the team to ensure that the project is completed to exacting standards on time and within budget.
These services include bulk excavation, the formation of embankments, pile breaking, retaining walls, drainage, formwork, steel fixing, concreting, paving and blacktop.
A full remedial service is offered on completion of the project.
In keeping with high quality developments and planning guidelines, developers are now being asked to include open areas, play areas and, on larger developments, football pitches and hard and soft playing fields.
Blaze Construction is being repeatedly asked to supply the complete package. This is well within its capabilities and Blaze Construction is happy to construct any of the above and hand over the finished product. This may include bulk excavation and fill, land drainage, embankment construction, mains service installation, landscaping, safety surfaces, play equipment, fencing, tarmacadam surfaces or coloured surfaces.
Blaze Construction felt that there was a need from its clients to provide a complete turnkey project and found that time and time again the installation of street lights and road signs was holding up the handover of some of its sites.
Blaze Construction in association with Utililight Ltd can now offer the additional service of street lighting and signage to its clients.
This is a recent venture but it is hoped one that will grow and fit well within its company and remove a problem area for its clients. Utililight Ltd´s personnel are highly trained, certificated and respected within the industry and Blaze Construction looks forward to a long and healthy relationship with Utililight´s Management Team.
